Two more test positive for Covid-19 in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: District Medical Officer Dr V Jayashree said that two more persons have been confirmed by Covid-19 here in Kozhikode Monday. The case has been detected in a two-year-old boy, son of 30-year-old pregnant woman hailing from Naripetta who was diagnosed with the disease on May 14. Another case was detected in a 37-year-old man from Kavilpara Thottilpallam, who arrived in Karipur from Abu Dhabi on May 16.

The boy, who was diagnosed with Covid-19 arrived in Karipur with his mother on a Dubai-Kozhikode flight on May 8 at around 2 am. He was taken home in a private vehicle and then kept under home isolation.
DMO said that the health condition of both is satisfactory. With this, the total number of COVID 19 confirmed cases in the district rose to 35. Out of this, 24 patients recovered from the disease.
The health department has sent 80 swab samples for testing. A total of 2887 samples are tested so far, 2745 samples tested negative. The district health department has placed 5783 persons under quarantine in Kozhikode district. Out of this, 33 of them kept under isolation wards of the Kozhikode Government Medical College hospital
